"At this stage we are working to establish the full circumstances that led to this man sadly losing his life. We know there was an altercation that took place in the street so we would ask if anyone saw the disturbance or has any information that may help with our investigation that they contact police and tell us what they know.
"We appreciate the community will be concerned so I want to reassure them that this is an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the community.
"We have cordoned off the street while we carry out our investigations and we will have an increased police presence in the area over the coming days. We would urge anyone with information or any concerns to speak to us."
