Fire at Burnley recycling plant Accrington Road closed

Lancashire Fire and Rescue are still tackling a fire at a recycling centre on Accrington Road in Burnley.

Firefighters from across East Lancashire were called to the site at 9.40pm last night. Eight fire engines, a cherry picker and a hazardous materials unit were dispatched as flames engulfed a pile of tyres.

The fire is now under control, three fire engines remain at the site this morning and Accrington road remains closed until further notice.
