Wallasey MP Angela Eagle on ballot paper for Deputy Leader of Labour Party

Wallasey MP Angela Eagle will campaign to be Deputy Leader of the Labour party after winning the backing of at least 35 MPs.

After the midday deadline Ms. Eagle tweeted "thrilled to have made it into ballot for Deputy Leader Thanks to all colleagues who supported me".

The other candidates for the post are Caroline Flint (Don Valley), Tom Watson (West Bromwich East), Ben Bradshaw (Exeter) and Stella Creasy (Walthamstow).
