BAFTA nominations: Sheridan Smith up for award for ITV series Cilla

Sheridan Smith has been nominated for Leading Actress at the BAFTA TV Awards.

The 33-year old has been put forward for her lead role in the ITV series Cilla which was praised by the matchmaker and TV personality herself.

The show itself has also been nominated in the Mini Series category.

Smith was previously nominated for a BAFTA in 2013 for playing the wife of the Great Train robber Ronnie Biggs in Mrs. Biggs.
