Manchester Arena celebrates its 20th anniversary
Manchester Arena has celebrated its 20th anniversary this week.
The 21,000 seater concert arena opened in 1995 with a performance from Torville and Dean before playing host to the world's stars.
From the Spice Girls to Peter Kay's record breaking residency, the arena is the largest of its kind in Europe.
Recently the venue was ranked the third busiest in the world and this year will welcome sold out shows from One Direction and Taylor Swift.
Take That will also play there for a massive 9 nights.
It has gone by many names over the years such at the Nynex, MEN Arena, and most recently the Phones 4u Arena, but it is now being rebranded simply as the Manchester Arena.
