The Ball arrives at Anfield on its way to World Cup Finals in Rio

Football's equivalent of the Olympic torch has been in Liverpool en route to the World Cup in Rio.

Known simply as "The Ball", every four years it travels the globe on its way to the World Cup Finals.

The Ball is seen as a symbol of fair play, respect and a celebration of bringing people together.

After leaving Liverpool it heads for Europe and the Americas visiting schools and football clubs along the way.

Liverpool legend Alan Kennedy and Andrew Aris, Director of Spirit of Football, spoke to Granada Reports.
