Power failure on board Ocean Countess

The cruise ship Ocean Countess has been diverted to Anglesey after suffering a power failure overnight.

She became the first ship to start her voyage from Liverpool's new cruise liner terminal when she set sail from the city yesterday.

An electrical fault caused the loss of main engine power for three hours overnight.

Full power has now been restored but the ship was diverted to Hollyhead on Anglesey for checks.
