Memorial to Liverpool Pals unveiled

It is exactly 100 years ago to the day that the first batallion of Pals was formed in Liverpool.

Thousands of men heeded the call to join up and fight as The First world War got underway.

Today, His Royal Highness The Duke of Wessex was on hand as a memorial to the Liverpool Pals was unveiled in the city.

A memorial to the Liverpool Pals who served during World War One is being unveiled by The Earl of Wessex today.

It follows a three year campaign by The Liverpool Pals Memorial Fund to create a permanent tribute to remember the men and boys who volunteered during the Great War.
