Body found in canal in Chester

Police are in the process of recovering a body from the Shropshire Union Canal in Chester .

Officers were called at around 6.15am today (Friday, April 26) to reports of a body being found near to Garden Lane.

A specialist underwater search team is currently at the scene, working to recover the body.

Police have set up a small cordon around the area.

The exact circumstances surrounding the death are currently unknown.
