Man's body found in children's playground

A man's body is believed to have been found in a children's playground in Manchester.

Police and forensics were seen carrying out an investigation at Philips Park in Clayton this morning.

A white sheet could be seen at the scene alongside a number of forensic officers and detectives.

A body was taken away in a coroner's van and the park has been reopened to the public.

Witnesses said there was police activity in the park since around 8am this morning.

Greater Manchester Police have been unable to confirm further details of the incident at this stage.
