New £11m flood defences opening in Morecambe

The Environment Minister Therese Coffey is opening major new flood defences in Morecambe later.

It's hoped the £11 million wave-protection wall will safeguard 13,000 homes and businesses.

The works, paid for by the Environment Agency, started in 2015 and were completed this year. 3.8km of coastal protection to the sea front has been upgraded or replaced.
