Double-decker bus fire closes M6 motorway in Cheshire

Firefighters are at the scene of a double-decker bus on fire on the M6 motorway.

The motorway was fully closed this morning while fire crews tackled the flames from the bus between junctions 16 and 17.

The southbound carriageway has now reopened however thick black smoke is coming from the bus and blowing away from the carriageway.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said everyone has been accounted for and there are no casualties.
