Merseyside Police investigating after woman's body found

Detectives are investigating an unexplained death following the discovery of a woman’s body in woodland, bordering Pool Lane and Old Court House Road, in Bromborough.

Officers were called at 10.35am on Saturday by a member of the public who had found the body whilst working on the land with other volunteers.

The scene has been cordoned off whilst forensic examinations take place.

The investigation is in its early stages and at this time the woman’s identity is unknown, although work is ongoing to establish who she is.

A post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
