Serious case review after teen found hanged at her home
The death of an ‘angelic’ 14-year-old girl is to be investigated by Rochdale council. The authority has launched a serious case review into the death of Charlotte Baron, who was found hanged at her home in February.
An inquest into the St Cuthbert’s RC High School pupil’s death was opened last week, but was put on hold until October.
A council spokesman confirmed that a serious case review is underway.Catherine McKenna, assistant coroner for Greater Manchester North, opened an inquest into Charlotte’s death at Heywood’s Phoenix Centre in March.
She heard that Charlotte’s body was discovered by her brother in her home on Saturday, February 20, and later identified by her mother, Veronica Kilbride.
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. The inquest was adjourned until July 27.
