Adam Yates has his sights set on the yellow jersey after proving himself as a Grand Tour contender in the Tour de France.

The 23-year-old, from Bury, claimed the white jersey as the best young rider and came fourth in the competition.

"It's only my second Tour de France and my third Grand Tour, and I'm fourth," Yates said. "For a lot of people it's a dream to ride the Tour de France, but for me to come in the top 10 or top five, I'm super happy.

"I learned a lot that will help me in the future to go one step further."
