Man injured in gas explosion in Gorton, Manchester
A man has been taken to hospital following a gas explosion in Gorton, Manchester.
Fire crews are currently at the scene of the explosion.
A two-storey terraced house is believed to have been damaged in the incident on Abbey Hey Lane.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, police and the ambulance service are currently at the scene.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire Service told the Manchester Evening News:
Residents in the area have reported seeing thick clouds of smoke and a large number of fire engines at the scene.
A worker at nearby Yummy’s Cafe told the Manchester Evening News:
Abbey Hey Lane has been corned off by police and closed in both directions between Constable Street and Vine Street.
