Man dies following collision with tram in Sale

A man has died following a collision with a tram in Sale.

The man died when he was involved in a collision with a tram near to Dane Road today, Sunday 5 June 2016, at around 9.25am.

Police attended the scene and Metrolink have closed part of the tram network whilst emergency services deal with the incident.

Motorists and tram passengers are urged to avoid the area where possible.

Police Constable Paul Shore of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

Metrolink have confirmed that the Altrincham line is currently suspended.
