Photographer takes dramatic snap of new baby after delivering it on her first ever assignment

A photographer who started a new career capturing the beauty of giving birth had to put her camera to one side on her very first assignment to deliver the new arrival.

Ellie Cotton, from Bollington in Cheshire, was commissioned to photograph the birth of Cat Marshall and Will Stephenson’s baby boy at their home in Poynton.

But when baby Marshall decided to make an appearance before the midwife could arrive, mum of two Ellie rolled up her sleeves and helped deliver him.
