Wigan Athletic legends return for charity match
FA Cup-winning skipper Emmerson Boyce will once again captain Wigan Athletic, this time in a legends team in Friday night’s Joseph’s Goal charity match against Arjan de Zeeuw’s Dutch Masters at Ashton Town.
Boyce led the legends in their inaugural fixture last year – a 10-0 victory over a Hollyoaks XI – and he will again wear the armband for what will be a far tougher assignment.

The Dutch Masters line-up will feature three former Latics men, with Denny Landzaat and Jorg Smeets joining De Zeeuw in wearing orange rather than blue.
And the rest of the squad is packed full of Premier League experience, as well as a mountain of Dutch international caps.Dutch Masters: Arjan de Zeeuw, Denny Landzaat, Jorg Smeets, Michael Mols (Rangers), Glenn Helder (Arsenal), Jan Krompkamp (Liverpool), Martijn Reuser (Ipswich), Andre Ooijer (Blackburn), Sander Westerveld (Liverpool), Clyde Wijnhard (Leeds), Tim De Cler, Patrick Paauwe, Orlando Engelaar, Marco Miltenburg, Zeb Den Uyl.
