Watch the moment an impatient motorist terrorised a car carrying a young family on a busy stretch of the M60.

Dad Leigh Normanton was driving with 12-year-old daughter Kayleigh and partner Toni Rees in a Volkswagen Passat when a Renault car sped up behind them and tailgated them near Stockport.

Footage from Leigh’s car shows the Renault overtaking another vehicle in the middle lane, before accelerating into the right hand lane, and flashing his lights at Leigh... as he speeds along just inches from his bumper.

At one point, the approaching car jolts as the driver appears to hit the brakes after narrowly avoiding hitting the back of Leigh’s car.

After backing off for a few seconds, the Renault driver once again speeds up behind Leigh - perilously close to hitting him.

The driver is then seen gesturing furiously at Leigh - who was doing 70mph - to move out of his way, despite the fact they were approaching a 50mph average speed trap through Bredbury in Stockport.

The footage then stops, but Leigh, from Ashton, said the Renault driver then undertook him in the middle lane before cutting across him back into the right hand lane, narrowly missing him.

Leigh, 33, said Kayleigh was left ‘petrified’ by the ordeal on Sunday - and that he had to pull into the hard shoulder after being left shaken.
