James frontman Tim Booth says it has become impossible to have a hit single due to the age of the band.

The Manchester indie legends, who are approaching their 35th anniversary, are back with their 14th studio album Girl At The End Of The World (released on March 18th).

Booth believes the band's new material is as powerful as anything they recorded in their heyday but claims lack of radio airplay means they are unlikely to add to their 20 Top 40 hits.

Booth, Jim Glennie and Saul Davies spoke to ITV's Mike Hall.
