New Beatles statue on Liverpool waterfront
A new statue of Liverpool's most famous sons has appeared on the city's waterfront.
The bronze statue of the Fab Four stands around seven feet tall and weighs in at more than 1.2 tonnes.
Chris Butler, who had the original idea for the statue, said: “This is a statue that needs no title, no explanation, no instruments, no gimmicks. It’s a monument to a moment and the moment started in Liverpool.
“There’s a real joy in knowing that this idea has come to fruition thanks to The Cavern Club. Together we present, to all the people, with love, our Beatles.”
It was unveiled by Julia Baird, John Lennon's sister.
