Four men have been jailed after the discovery of one of the biggest cannabis farms in Merseyside.
The men were sentenced to a total of 13 years and four months after pleading guilty to cultivating cannabis.
• Van Ntuyen, 36, was sentenced to three years, four months
• Le Ban Nam, 50, was sentenced to three years, four months
• Thanh Duc Dong, 50, was sentenced to three years, four months
• Doan Xuan Quynh, 40, was sentenced to three years, four months
The cannabis farm was discovered in Everton on 10 June 2015 after a neighbourhood officer noticed a strong smell of drugs from the street below during a routine patrol.
When they looked up at the fifth floor of Candia Towers they noticed a large number of windows covered with sheeting.
The officers went inside the apartment block and the smell of cannabis led them to three flats on the fifth floor.
There, they discovered cannabis plants growing in the bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas of each flat.
Hiding among the plants in one flat were the four men who were arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation.
Further searches of the high rise led to cannabis plants being found grown in flats in five other flats on the sixth and twelfth floors.
Around 2,000 plants were recovered in total with an estimated street value of between £1m to £2m.
Speaking after the sentence, Chief Inspector Matt Boyle said:
