New 'Puppy Room' for stressed-out students
Stressed out students at the University of Central Lancashire are soon to going be able to relax in a unique way.
Not drinking in the student bar as you might think, but by hosting their first ever 'puppy room'.
Teaming up with the charity Guide Dogs, students will get the opportunity to cuddle a puppy to de-stress as deadlines and exams loom.
Research by scientists at Hiroshima University in Japan has shown the power of cuteness, with results of three separate experiments showing that candidates concentration levels rose after looking at pictures of puppies or kittens.
The Student Union is keen to reassure people that the welfare of the puppies is a priority, with regular breaks provided for the dogs in a 'chill out' room. It's hoped that the guide dogs in training will also benefit by giving them a chance to get used to being around people.
It'll all take place on 7th May. Click here to find out more.
