Frankie star Holly Johnson back on tour
Frankie Goes to Hollywood singer Holly Johnson is back with a new album and tour, and has been speaking to Granada Reports.
He spoke about his love for Liverpool, claiming: "I have nothing in common with Ringo Starr whatsoever!
"I love Liverpool. It's so much nicer than it was when I lived there. There was lots of unemployment and riots in Toxteth, but now it's really gentrified and beautiful in some areas."
Speaking about his success in Frankie, he said: "Sometimes I feel it happened to someone else, it's hard to relate to as an adult, I was mere child back then."
He also touched on the controversy surrounding the band's most famous single, Relax, which was banned from Radio 1 in 1984.
He said: "The BBC shot themselves in the foot. They did it un-ban it by the end of the year and ask us to perform it on Christmas Top of the Pops. So, it was a bit of a fiasco the banning of Relax."
And reflecting on his involvement with the Hillsborough Justice campaign, Holly said singing on the release of He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother, was "an easy decision to make".
