Quigg defends his boxing world title
Scott Quigg made a successful defence of his WBA super-bantamweight title with a second-round stoppage of South African Tshifiwa Munyai in Manchester.
The Bury 25-year-old floored Munyai with a big left hand in the opening round and referee Howard Foster brought an end to the contest in round two when Munyai hit the canvas again.
Victory moved Quigg, who extended his unbeaten professional record to 30 fights, closer to a domestic showdown with unbeaten Belfast contender Carl Frampton.
In the all Manchester clash between Anthony Crolla and John Murray it was Crolla who came out on top.
The Manchester United fan stopped Murray, a City supporter in the 10th round of their WBO Inter-Continental Lightweight bout at Manchester Arena.
