Body found off Guernsey coast in search for missing man

Guernsey police has confirmed the body of a man has been found in the area where officers were searching for a missing 50-year-old.

Patrick Eker was last seen in St Sampson around 10pm on Saturday.

Air search teams and lifeboat crews were launched in the Pleinmont area to help, and on Sunday a body was found in the water.

Formal identification is yet to take place, but the search teams have been stood down.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
