Jersey car crash leaves vehicle on its side

A vehicle ended up on its side after a crash on La Grande Route De Saint-Martin this morning.

A dedicated rescue unit was called to the collision at 11.45am, including seven fire-fighters from Red watch.

The driver managed to escape the car with minor injuries, before the emergency services arrived.

Crews used special winching equipment to bring the vehicle safely back onto four wheels.

This was a joint effort from all three emergency services to have the road made safe, cleared and re-opened in a timely manner.

Islanders are being urged to take extra care on the roads during the storms.

The road was re-opened earlier this afternoon.
