Petition to stop church being demolished and homes built in its place

The disused church in Gorey

A petition has been launched to stop a disused church in Jersey from being demolished and replaced with retirement homes.

Two new homes for the elderly people are proposed for the site in Gorey Village.

The former Catholic church, which hasn't been used since 2013, was previously a cinema.

Parishoners have fought previous attempts to knock down the church and have told ITV they are ready to fight again.
