Guernsey's 'genuine interest in sport' helped secure Island Games

'A genuine interest in sport' is just one of the reasons Guernsey's been chosen to host the 2021 NatWest Island Games.

The island's sporting venues have also been praised by officials - who have described them as 'top class.'

The comments were made by organisers in Gotland, where next year's games are being held.

Guernsey was officially confirmed as host of the 2021 event on Saturday.

Jorgen Pettersson from the Island Games Association says the body was impressed by Guernsey when it last hosted the event in 2003 - and that has helped the island secure the event for a third time.
