Backbenchers to grill Chief Minister on Jersey's Innovation Fund
Backbenchers will be grilling the Chief Minister today for more answers on how Jersey's Innovation Fund is being managed, after ITV News reported£400,000 was given to a company which may have disappeared.
Last week, a government whistleblower told ITV Channel the sum was given to Logfiller Limited, but there has been no sign of the company at its registered address.
Jersey's Innovation Fund was set up to provide funding to entrepreneurs, start-ups, and established organisations, with the hope of boosting the economy.
Following the revelation, the government's spending watchdog has demanded evidence that proper checks and balances are in place before the fund gives out money.
Last week, Senator Philip Ozouf confirmed to ITV News that a review of the Jersey Innovation Fund is now underway.
