Man fined £500 for importing illegal steroids
A 26-year-old man has been fined £500 after admitting importing illegal steroids into Jersey.
Macieji Cholewinski, of St Saviour's Road, St Helier, pleaded guilty to 11 counts of importing Class C controlled drugs.
The Magistrate's Court heard that Mr Cholewinski ordered the steroids on the internet and had them addressed to his brother as he was away. When enforcement officers arrived to speak to his brother, Maceiji admitted he had ordered the drugs. They cost around £300 and he said planned to use them himself to get 'bigger muscles in the gym.'
Mr Cholewinsk told the Court he was 'so sorry,' that it had been a big lesson, and would not happen again' and asked for a 'light judgement.'
He was fined £500 and the drugs will be destroyed.
