The trial of the man, accused of murdering a Guernsey woman in India, has resumed today.
Dutch national, Richard De Wit, is charged with killing 24-year-old Sarah Groves on a houseboat in Srinigar in 2013.
The Dutch government has made an application for De Wit to be declared medically unfit to stand trial, but De Wit’s new lawyer met with the judge to dispute that earlier today.
He has argued that the accusation is ‘unfair’ and that his client deserves the right to prove his innocence in court.
The Dutch government will present their report tomorrow.
