Special police team to recover proceeds of crime in Guernsey
A new law enforcement agency in Guernsey will target the recovery of proceeds of financial and other crime.
Assets held by convicted criminals can be confiscated and held in funds for further policing work, victims of crime and community projects.
The Camden Assets Recovery Interagency Network (CARIN), an international network dealing with all aspects of confiscating crime, is hosting its annual meeting in Guernsey today.
The group says it believes combating financial crime requires global effort and it is therefore vital for a dedicated team of Guernsey Police and Border Agency specialists will work with agencies across the world.
