Channel Television goes on air - 53 years ago today

Channel Television is celebrating its 53rd birthday today.

The programme went to air on 1st September 1962 from its purpose-built centre at Rough Bouillon in Jersey. It now resides in a new purpose-built centre, at Castle Quay in St Helier.
