Guernsey's College of Further Education is due to unveil a new 10-year plan which will reform teaching in the island.

Principal, Saboohi Famili, says money could be better spent and the new plans will see a curriculum 'fit for purpose.'

The College has carried out a series of forums with different sectors of the local business community over the last six months which has helped shape the reforms.

The plans will be presented to the business community on 23 March, when they will have a chance to have a direct input.

The proposals will then be presented to the Board of Education in April 2015.

This presentation will outline recommendations for the restructuring of the College and its curriculum to meet the demands of our economy now, and in preparation for the future and more progressive technologies.

The College will have to adapt to become more flexible to changes to our local industries and their training demands. This new approach will also allow us to be more responsive to changes.
