What to do with Guernsey's derelict greenhouses?

A leading Guernsey entrepreneur is pressuring the States to pull down the island's derelict greenhouses, and make room for other kinds of business.

Maximuscle founder Zef Eisenberg made the calls at last nights Institute of Directors debate, where 500 business leaders and politicians discussed the island's economic future.

He says planning rules which prevent greenhouses being used for other small businesses need to change.

In the beginning you can't afford high rents, you can't afford a long lease and that's where the greenhouses come in.

They've got tonnes of greenhouses all over the island rotting, derelict, broken glass, we're doing nothing with them.
