Missing 75-year-old woman in Jersey

A joint search has been launched by emergency services in Jersey for a missing 75-year-old woman.

Valerie Jehan is described as "high risk" and was last seen getting off a bus near Devils Hole on Friday.

The Channel Island Air Search has been involved in the effort, as well as the lifeboat and police dogs.

Physical search for missing Valerie Jehan called off

Search teams looking for a 75-year-old woman from Jersey have been stood down, according to police.

Valerie Jehan has not been seen for nearly a week, having left her home in St Helier last Friday saying she was going for a walk.

She then took a bus to Devil's Hole and her handbag was found on a nearby cliff face on Wednesday.

States of Jersey Police say their investigations will continue and a file will be prepared for the Deputy Viscount.

Air search resumes for missing Valerie

Air crews were today able to resume their search for missing Valerie Jehan, but there is still no trace of the 75-year-old.

Valerie was last seen getting off a bus near Devil's Hole on Friday.

The Channel Islands Air Search plane was dispatched this morning, after being unable to fly yesterday due to the weather.

Crews searched the shore line and cliffs between Plemont and Rozel.

An intensive search was made of this area including bays and gullies but no trace could be found of the missing lady.

Search parties on the ground could be seen and the Fisheries protection vessel ‘Norman Le Brock’ was also assisting at sea.

The aircraft was stood down at 11am.

Valerie has now been missing for four days.
