Guernsey Water take Reservoir out of supply following fire
Guernsey Water has taken the decision to stop the supply of the Longue Hougue Reservoir as a temporary precaution following the fire at the Bulwer Avenue scrapyard site.
The reservoir is situated opposite the scrapyard and Guernsey Water say that by isolating the site it will mean there's no risk to the island's drinking water.
They say that supply will still be met from the other reservoirs and the King's Mills and St Saviour's treatment works.
The site is expected to return to normal within 24 hours, once samples have been tested.
Charlie Frost has been at the scene of the fire for most of the day and here is her report.
