The cost of living in Jersey rose by 1.3% in the last three months.

It means there has been an overall increase of 4.5% so far this year - the highest annual rate of inflation in six years.

The States of Jersey say the increase is due to price increases in household services, motoring and fuel industries in the last quarter.

The price increase of travel, household services and fuel increase at a greater rate in Jersey than in the rest of the UK.

However, the cost of leisure goods, household goods and tobacco groups increased at lower rates comparatively.

In Jersey, the cost of clothing was the only sector which saw a price decrease of 2.4%.
