Course record smashed at fifth Guernsey Ultramarathon

Locally-based runner Tiaan Erwee took almost forty minutes out of his own course record to win this year's Guernsey Ultramarathon.

He completed the 36-mile round-island route in 4:19.44 to finish well clear of the rest of the 80-strong field.

Around fifty visiting athletes, including six from Jersey, joined Guernsey runners for the fifth local ultra event.

James Donald from Team Bath AC took second place in a time of 5:05.14, while Nancy Connolly was the top woman in 6:09.36.
