Opt-out organ donation system adopted in Jersey
An opt-out organ donation system has been approved in Jersey.
The States voted 44 votes to 1 in favour of approving the new law.
It means consent for organ donation will now be assumed unless family members object and 'opt-out'.
Proposals for the system were lodged earlier this year by the Health Minister, Senator Andrew Green.
He says he wants to make it easier for people to potentially save a life.
