Release date confirmed for Guernsey-based film

The long-awaited film adaptation of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society finally has a confirmed release date.

It had been rumored that the star-studded film, called 'Guernsey', would not be released until August/September 2018 after facing numerous delays in the last few years.

The film will now arrive on the big screen on Friday 20th April after facing numerous delays in the last few years.

The adaptation, which stars Downton Abbey actress Lily James and Game of Thrones actor Michiel Huisman, was directed by Four Weddings and a Funeral's Mike Newell.

The screenplay was adapted from the Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows international best-selling novel about a journalist who decides to write about an island book club which formed during the war.

The book sold 7.5 million copies in 37 countries.
