Sark electricity prices could plummet

Electricity prices in Sark could be set to plummet to 45p per unit in 2018.

The current price is 69p per unit, which is one of the highest prices in western Europe.

An external consultation by the island's first electricity regular found Sark's current electricity situation "unsustainable".

Prices on the island are high due to the small size of the island the decision to bury all cables.

After speaking with Sark residents between 8th-10th January, Mr White says he may set a "control order". This will see a maximum price for the sale of electricity.
