Two severely underweight seal pups have been rescued in Jersey and Guernsey.

On Sunday morning, one of the seal pups washed up at L'Etacq with evidence of head trauma. Plans are currently in place for Blue Islands to fly the pup to Guernsey for specialist treatment with the GSPCA.

Meanwhile the thinnest seal pup on record was rescued from Beaucette Marina in Guernsey this morning.

At just two weeks, 'Temperance' weighs a quarter of the weight a pup at two weeks should.

The GSPCA will now deliver around the clock care with tube feeds and hydration every two hours.

Steve Byrne, Manager of the GSPCA has reminded the public not to approach seal pups but instead to report the sighting.
