Jersey to travel to Malaysia for World Cricket League 4

Jersey’s cricketers are set to play in Malaysia for a third time after the ICC announced it has been awarded next year’s World Cricket League Division 4 tournament.

Neil MacRae’s side will try to avoid relegation from that level for the first time in their history after bouncing straight back from Division 5.

They beat Vanuatu in South Africa in September to be crowned WCL5 champions for a third time - having previously lifted that trophy in Malaysia in 2014.

The Caesareans also travelled to Malaysia in 2011, when they finished fourth in Division 6.

Jersey’s last WCL4 tournament came in Los Angeles in 2016 when they won three games out of six, but were still relegated.

Subject to confirmation of budgets and logistical arrangements, the tournament will run from Saturday 28 April to Saturday 5 May 2018.

Jersey will be joined by hosts Malaysia, Uganda, Bermuda, Denmark, and Vanuatu.
