Islanders raise £27,000 for man with brain tumour

A man diagnosed with a brain tumour in Jersey just one month ago, has been given the chance of undergoing specialist therapy, after islanders raised £27,000 for him.

Friends of Rafal Tabor, 40, set up the page just over a week ago to help pay for proton therapy treatment in Germany to treat his brain tumour.

Since then more than £24,500 has been donated, and events held in Jersey have raised thousands more offline too.

It closes tomorrow morningby 10am to make sure the money gets to the clinic in time for Rafal's first appointment next week.

The islander who set the page up, Ewa Modzelewski, says she is "thrilled" by how much money has been donated, and they now have enough to pay for the first round of treatment abroad.
