States of Alderney: "we welcome thorough report"

The States of Alderney say they welcome the independent report into the island’s Health & Social Care.

In a statement issued this afternoon, they accepted "the request for a full and heartfelt apology to Dr Lyons".

James Dent, Chairman, of the Policy and Finance Committee said he "looks forward to working with Guernsey for appropriate change".

Politicians from Alderney highlighted certain recommendations from the report, including:

• The need to have different medical care on the two islands

• Options to change how health care might be delivered

• A need to improve data systems
