Alderney's election meeting bans American-style campaigning

A date has been set for people in Alderney to question candidates standing in this month's election.

Hustings take place on Wednesday 16 November, with a 90 minute "workshop" taking place before, where people can chat informally with potential politicians.

The rules for the Hustings have also been published.

Candidates will be given a maximum of three minutes each to answer each question, and, unlike the US elections, there will be a ban on personal attacks and innuendos.

Islanders will go to the polls on Saturday 26 November 2016.
