Sick seal pup rescued in Jersey
A sick seal pup has been rescued in Jersey after being found underweight, lethargic and wounded on Archirondel beach.
It was spotted by an islander laid out on the seaweed with a very dry coat, just after high tide today.
The JSCPA ambulance went to the scene with Donna de Gruchy from British Divers Marine Life Rescue.
The pup is now at New Era Vets and the next 24 hours have been described as 'crucial'.
Staff will see if it is well enough to travel to the UK for treatment and rehab with the RSPCA.
For now vets are keeping the creature hydrated and working closely with UK seal specialists to find out the best course of action.
